 When Will This Dance of Destruction in Sports End?

Once again, Pakistani sports have fallen victim to chaos, nepotism, and conspiracies. Weightlifting — a sport that once brought honor and gold medals to the nation — is now being strangled by internal politics. Furqan, a weightlifter in 200% peak form and a double gold medalist, has been not only excluded from the Asian Games 2025 but has now also been barred from participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025.

This is the same Furqan who raised Pakistan’s flag high with his exceptional performance. Yet, a small circle of self-serving officials has once again put the nation’s gold medals at stake for their personal and political interests. The naked dance of sports politics is now happening openly in the streets, while those responsible for sports governance remain in a deep sleep, indifferent and inactive.

This raises serious questions:

Is this not a betrayal of the sport and the nation?

Is this not exploitation instead of development?

And if the answer is yes, will anyone ever investigate?

Sadly, no government representative or IPC (Inter-Provincial Coordination) officer has the courage to question the Pakistan Olympic Association or the concerned federations about when this tragic "dance of destruction" will finally end.

Athletes and sports are the pride of the nation — but if such injustices continue, our athletes will begin to lose faith in their own playing fields.

According to credible sources, Hafiz Imran Butt, who was banned for doping, was recently spotted in Bahrain during the Asian Youth Games enjoying himself with an Olympic Accreditation Card, a direct violation of the Olympic Charter. Shockingly, neither the Pakistan Olympic Association nor the Pakistan Sports Board has taken any action or even offered an explanation.

What’s even more alarming is that the final list of athletes and officials for the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 has not been made public by any responsible authority. Sports journalists and insiders have tried to confirm it through various channels, but both the Sports Board and the Olympic Association have remained silent.

In athletics, Pakistan’s only real gold medal hopes — Arshad Nadeem and Yasir Sultan — have also been undermined. Their original coach, Fayyaz Bukhari, who guided Arshad to his Olympic record, has been dropped yet again without reason.

Sources further reveal that during a recent Pakistan Athletics Federation council meeting, Suleman Butt, who has been banned for ten years, was also included in the Islamic Games contingent. Meanwhile, inexperienced and unknown individuals are being added as officials, effectively burying merit altogether.

The question is not why our athletes are falling behind — the real question is why our sports institutions have collapsed.

Are the federations meant to serve sports, or to serve their families and friends?

Why do they refuse to stand up for the players and coaches who actually bring honor to the country?

And above all — how long will this dance of destruction against our athletes and coaches continue?

It is high time that the government, the Sports Board, and the Pakistan Olympic Association be held accountable for burying Pakistan’s real heroes under the weight of their conspiracies and corruption.

کھیلوں میں رقصِ بسمل کب ختم ہوگا؟

پاکستانی کھیلوں میں ایک بار پھر بدنظمی، اقرباپروری، اور سازشوں کا ننگا ناچ جاری ہے۔ ویٹ لفٹنگ جیسے کھیل، جس نے پاکستان کو ماضی میں گولڈ میڈل کی صورت میں عزت بخشی، آج اندرونی سازشوں کی زد میں ہیں۔ 200 فیصد فارم میں موجود دو گولڈ میڈل جیتنے والے ویٹ لفٹر فرقان کو نہ صرف ایشین گیمز 2025 سے باہر کر دیا گیا بلکہ اب اسلامک سولڈیرٹی گیمز 2025 میں بھی شرکت سے روک دیا گیا ہے۔

یہ وہی فرقان ہے جس نے اپنے غیر معمولی پرفارمنس سے پاکستان کا پرچم بلند کیا تھا، لیکن افسوس کہ کھیلوں کے چند مخصوص ٹولے نے اپنی سیاست اور ذاتی مفادات کے لیے ایک بار پھر گولڈ میڈلز داؤ پر لگا دیے۔ کھیلوں کی ننگی سیاست اب اس حد تک پہنچ چکی ہے کہ یہ چوک میں برہنہ وار بین کر رہی ہے، جبکہ ذمہ داران اور ادارے بدستور ستو پی کر سوئے ہوئے ہیں۔

یہ سوال ذمہ داروں سے جواب مانگتے ھیں کہ کیا یہ کھیل اور اس ملک سے غداری نہیں؟ کیا کھیلوں کی ترقی کے بجائے استحصال نہیں؟ اور اگر جواب اثبات میں ھے تو کیا کوئی تحقیقات ھونگی۔

کسی حکومتی نمائندے یا وزارتِ بین الصوبائی رابطہ (IPC) کے افسر میں یہ جرات نہیں کہ وہ پاکستان اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن یا متعلقہ فیڈریشنز سے پوچھ سکے کہ یہ رقصِ بسمل آخر کب ختم ہوگا؟

  کھیل و کھلاڑی ملک کا فخر ھوتے ھیں۔ اور اگر مسائل کو حل نہ کیا گیا تو کھلاڑی میدانوں سے نفرت کرنے لگیں گے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق، ویٹ لفٹنگ کے مشہور ڈوپنگ اسکینڈل میں بین شدہ حافظ عمران بٹ کو بحرین میں ہونے والے ایشین یوتھ گیمز کے دوران اولمپک ایکریڈیشن کارڈ کے ساتھ گھومتے اور انجوائے کرتے دیکھا گیا، جو کہ اولمپک چارٹر کی صریحاً خلاف ورزی ہے۔ اس پر نہ پاکستان اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن نے کوئی وضاحت دی، نہ ہی پاکستان اسپورٹس بورڈ نے کوئی ایکشن لیا۔

مزید حیرت کی بات یہ ہے کہ اسلامک گیمز 2025 کے لیے ابھی تک کھلاڑیوں اور آفیشلز کی فائنل لسٹ کسی سرکاری ادارے یا اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن نے جاری نہیں کی۔ صحافیوں اور کھیلوں سے جڑے لوگوں نے مختلف ذرائع سے تصدیق کرنے کی کوشش کی، مگر نہ اسپورٹس بورڈ نے جواب دیا اور نہ ہی اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن نے۔

دوسری طرف ایتھلیٹکس کے میدان میں پاکستان کی واحد گولڈ میڈل کی امید، ارشد ندیم اور یاسر سلطان کے اصل کوچ فیاض بخاری کو بھی ڈراپ کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ وہی فیاض بخاری ہیں جن کی کوچنگ میں ارشد ندیم نے اولمپک ریکارڈ قائم کیا۔ اس کے باوجود انہیں ایک بار پھر پسِ پشت ڈال دیا گیا۔

ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ حال ہی میں پاکستان ایتھلیٹکس فیڈریشن کی کونسل میٹنگ میں دس سالہ پابندی والے سلیمان بٹ کو بھی اسلامی گیمز کے دستے میں شامل کیا گیا ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ کچھ نامعلوم اور ناتجربہ کار افراد کو بھی بطور آفیشل بھیجنے کی تیاری کی جا رہی ہے، گویا میرٹ کو مکمل طور پر دفن کر دیا گیا ہے۔

سوال یہ نہیں کہ ہمارے کھلاڑی کیوں پیچھے رہ گئے — سوال یہ ہے کہ کھیلوں کے ادارے کیوں بگڑ گئے؟

سوال یہ ہے کہ فیڈریشنز کھیل کے لیے ہیں یا اپنے خاندانوں اور دوستوں کے لیے، کیوں کھلاڑی و کوچ کے لئے فائٹ نہی کرتیں؟

اور سب سے بڑا سوال یہ ہے کہ کھلاڑیوں اور کوچز کے ساتھ یہ رقصِ بسمل کب تک جاری رہے گا؟

اب وقت آ گیا ہے کہ حکومت، اسپورٹس بورڈ، اور اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن کے ان ذمہ داران سے جواب طلب کیا جائے جنہوں نے پاکستان کے اصل ہیروز کو سازشوں کے نیچے دفن کر دیا۔
