Dear Arshad Nadeem,

Assalam-o-Alaikum,

This letter comes from a friend, a well-wisher, and a Pakistani who has seen you rise from the dusty village grounds to the golden stage of the Olympics. Your historic throw of 92.97 meters inly Paris was not just a record; it was the heartbeat of an entire nation, a reflection of every prayer that lifted you higher. That day, every Pakistani stood tall with pride.

But Arshad, history is not only written with medals. It is written with character, humility, and service. Let us take a moment to look at those who came before you.

Remember Mehrullah Lassi. A boy from the narrow streets of Lyari, once selling roasted corn, who went on to win gold for Pakistan at the Asian Games. The President of Pakistan showered him with millions, and the media celebrated him like a star. Yet, bad company, drugs, and politics of the federation destroyed his career. Today, he lives an ordinary life, warning youngsters: “One small mistake can ruin your entire career.”

Now look at Jahangir Khan. The king of squash, with an unimaginable record of 555 consecutive victories. But his greatest victory was not just in numbers — it was in humility and humanity. That humility made him not just a champion of sport but also a champion of people.

And then, consider pole Vaulter Mondo Duplantis of Finland. Again and again, he breaks his own world records. His success comes not just from talent, but from professionalism and a deep bond with his coach. He proves that true greatness lies in discipline and loyalty.

Arshad, you too stand at such a crossroads. But the bitter truth is that you are surrounded by opportunists and manipulators who are pulling you away from your roots, your coach, and your purpose. These people show you the glitter of wealth and fame, but they will abandon you when the spotlight fades — just as it happened with Mehrullah.

Remember those days when you entered the ground by touching the feet of your coach, Fayyaz Bukhari. That respect and humility laid the foundation of your success. If you forget that, you lose the very essence of your journey.

Today, Pakistan faces floods that have left thousands homeless. Children are hungry, families are broken, and diseases are spreading. This is your moment, Arshad! Use your fame and stature for humanity. Stand with people like Hadiqa Kiani, who is already working for flood victims. If you turn your success into service, you will become not only a great athlete but also a great human being.

Remember, Imran Khan is not remembered only for winning the World Cup but for building Shaukat Khanum Hospital. Cristiano Ronaldo is not celebrated only as a football legend but also for his unmatched humanitarian services.

Arshad, it is time to let go of ego, false glitter, and the wrong company. Return to your roots, seek forgiveness from your coach, embrace humility, and connect your greatness with service to others. Time will pass, medals will fade, but character and service will live forever.

یہ خط ایک دوست، ایک خیر خواہ اور ایک ایسے پاکستانی کی طرف سے ہے جس نے تمہیں گاؤں کے میدانوں سے نکل کر اولمپکس کے سنہری اسٹیج تک پہنچتے دیکھا۔ تمہاری وہ 92.97 میٹر کی تھرو صرف ایک ریکارڈ نہیں تھی، یہ پوری قوم کی دھڑکن اور دعاؤں کی گونج تھی۔ اس دن ہر پاکستانی نے تم پر فخر کیا۔

لیکن ارشد، تاریخ صرف تمغوں سے نہیں لکھی جاتی۔ تاریخ کردار، عاجزی اور خدمت سے بھی لکھی جاتی ہے۔ میں چاہتا ہوں کہ تم کچھ لمحے نکال کر اُن لوگوں کے سفر پر نظر ڈالو جو تم سے پہلے اس ملک کے ہیرو بنے۔

یاد کرو مہر اللّٰہ لاسی کو۔ لیاری کی تنگ گلیوں میں مکئی بیچنے والا وہ لڑکا جب ایشین گیمز کا گولڈ لایا تو پورا پاکستان اس پر نچھاور ہوا۔ صدرِ پاکستان نے کروڑوں کا انعام دیا، میڈیا نے اسے ستارے کی طرح چمکایا۔ لیکن غلط صحبت، نشے اور فیڈریشن کی سیاست نے اس کے پر کاٹ دیے۔ آج وہ ایک عام سی نوکری کر رہا ہے اور نوجوانوں کو کہتا ہے: "ایک چھوٹی سی غلطی پوری زندگی تباہ کر دیتی ہے۔"

پھر دیکھو جہانگیر خان کو۔ اسکواش کا بادشاہ، 555 لگاتار جیتیں، ایک ایسا ریکارڈ جسے دنیا آج بھی حیرت سے دیکھتی ہے۔ لیکن جہانگیر کی اصل پہچان صرف یہ جیتیں نہیں، بلکہ وہ عاجزی ہے جس نے اسے کھیلوں کا بادشاہ ہی نہیں بلکہ انسانیت کا بڑا سپاہی بنا دیا۔

اور پھر نظر ڈالو فن لینڈ کے ڈوپلینٹس پر۔ وہ ہر بار اپنا ہی ورلڈ ریکارڈ توڑتا ہے، لیکن اس کی کامیابی کے پیچھے اس کا پروفیشنلزم اور کوچ کے ساتھ مضبوط رشتہ ہے۔ وہ اپنی طاقت کو دنیاوی چکاچوند نہیں بلکہ کھیل کی خدمت کے لیے استعمال کرتا ہے۔

ارشد، تم بھی اپنی زندگی کے ایسے موڑ پر ہو جہاں فیصلہ تمہارے ہاتھ میں ہے۔ لیکن سچ یہ ہے کہ تمہارے گرد ایسے جعل ساز موجود ہیں جو تمہیں تمہارے کوچ، تمہاری اصل اور تمہارے مقصد سے دور کر رہے ہیں۔ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو کل کو تمہیں تنہا چھوڑ دیں گے۔

یاد رکھو، وہ دن جب تم پنجاب گراؤنڈ میں اپنے کوچ فیاض بخاری کے قدم چھو کر میدان میں اترتے تھے۔ وہی عاجزی اور احترام تمہیں آج اس مقام تک لایا۔ اگر تم نے اس رشتے کو بھلا دیا تو سمجھو تم نے اپنے سفر کی بنیاد کھو دی۔

آج ملک میں سیلاب نے ہزاروں گھر اجاڑ دیے ہیں۔ لوگ کھلے آسمان تلے بیٹھے ہیں، بچے بھوکے ہیں، بیماریاں پھیل رہی ہیں۔ یہ تمہارے لیے موقع ہے، ارشد! اپنی شہرت اور مقام کو انسانی خدمت سے جوڑو۔ حدیقہ کیانی جیسی آواز کے ساتھ کھڑے ہو جاؤ جو پہلے ہی سیلاب زدگان کے لیے کام کر رہی ہے۔ اگر تم اپنی کامیابی کو ان کی خدمت میں بدل دو تو تم نہ صرف بڑے اتھلیٹ بلکہ بڑے انسان بھی بن جاؤ گے۔

یاد رکھو، عمران خان کو آج صرف ورلڈ کپ کی وجہ سے نہیں یاد کیا جاتا بلکہ اس لیے بھی کہ اس نے شوکت خانم اسپتال بنا کر اپنی کامیابی کو خدمت میں ڈھالا۔ رونالڈو دنیا کے عظیم ترین فٹبالرز میں ہے لیکن اس کی اصل عظمت یتیم بچوں اور ضرورت مندوں کے لیے اس کی خدمات ہیں۔

ارشد، یہ وقت ہے کہ تم انا، مصنوعی چکاچوند اور غلط صحبت کو چھوڑ کر واپس اپنی اصل کی طرف آؤ۔ اپنے کوچ سے معافی مانگو، عاجزی کو اپناؤ، اور اپنی کامیابی کو انسانیت کی خدمت میں ڈھالو۔ یاد رکھو، وقت گزر جاتا ہے، لیکن کردار اور خدمت ہمیشہ زندہ رہتے ہیں۔

فیصلہ تمہارے ہاتھ میں ہے۔ کیا تاریخ تمہیں صرف ایک تھرو کے ہیرو کے طور پر یاد رکھے یا ایک ایسے انسان کے طور پر جو اپنی عظمت کو دوسروں کی امید میں بدل گیا؟
