نیشنل گیمز 2025 — ستاسی کروڑ کا تماشا، کھیل کم کمیشن زیادہ

اٹھارہ برس کی طویل خاموشی کے بعد بالآخر پینتیسویں نیشنل گیمز کراچی کے حصے میں آئے—لیکن کیسی واپسی! حیرت انگیز طور پر ان کھیلوں پر ستاسی کروڑ روپے خرچ کیے جا رہے ہیں جبکہ ملک بھر سے آنے والے تقریباً گیارہ ہزار ایتھلیٹس کی شرکت کے نام پر فی کھلاڑی ساڑھے آٹھ لاکھ روپے کا بوجھ بجٹ میں ڈال دیا گیا۔ سب سے بڑا سوال یہ ھے کہ یہ گیارہ ہزار اتھلیٹ کہان ھیں؟ اور مزید سوالات یہ ہے کہ کیا اس خطیر رقم سے کھیل بدلے ہیں؟ کیا کھلاڑیوں کو کوئی عالمی معیار کی سہویات ملی ہیں؟ یا پھر یہ بھی ایک اور ایونٹ ثابت ہونے جا رہا ہے جس کا مقصد صرف بجٹ نچوڑنا تھا جیسا کہ اٹھارہ سال پہلے؟
ستاسی کروڑ—لیکن کھیل کہاں ہیں؟
کراچی ہو یا سندھ کا کوئی اور شہر—گزشتہ کئی برسوں میں نہ کوئی عالمی معیار کا انفراسٹرکچر بنا، نہ میدان اپ گریڈ ہوئے، نہ کوچز کی تربیت، نہ ایلیٹ ایتھلیٹس کے پروگرام، نہ لانگ ٹرم پالیسی، نہ وہ سسٹم جو کسی ارشد ندیم، حسین شاہ یاجہانگیر خان جیسے کھلاڑی پیدا کرے۔
تربیت کا حال یہ ہے کہ آج بھی کھلاڑی ٹارٹن ٹریک کے رونے روتے ہیں، اور بین الاقوامی مقابلوں میں شرکت کے لیے چندے اور سفارشوں پر انحصار کرتے ہیں۔ میونسپل سپورٹس کمپلیکس ھو یا پیپلز سٹیڈیم اجاڑ خانے بنے ھوئے ھیں جبکہ پتی مافیہ کھیلوں پر قابض ھے۔
کمیشن مافیا — کھیلوں کا ایک نیا کھیل
کبھی یہ گیمز آٹھ کروڑ میں منعقد ہوتے تھے۔ مگر پھر "ترقی" اس رفتار سے ہوئی کہ وہی ایونٹ اب ستاسی کروڑ تک پہنچ گئے۔ کمیشن مافیا نے ففٹی ففٹی اور پچیس پچھتّر کے کھلے کمیشنوں سے آغاز کیا، اور آج کھیلوں کے بجٹ کو ایک مسلسل دودھ دینے والی گائے بنا دیا ہے۔ دو ہزار کا جوتا آٹھ ہزار اور تین ہزار کا ٹریک سوٹ ۱۵ ہزار میں خریدا جا تا ھے اور تعداد اتنی کے افسر شاہی کے گھر کے نوکر بھی پہن کے بازاروں میں پھریں۔ آفیشلز کے کوٹ پتلون تو ایسے لگتا ھے کہ دولہے کے لباس والی دکانوں سے خریدے گئے ھوں۔ ٹرانپورتیشن کے لئے گاڑیاں خاص طور پر اولمپک آفیشلز کے لئے لی گئیں جیسے آئی او سی کے نمائیندے ھوں۔ میڈل اور ٹرافیوں کی خریداری ھو یا رہاش کے انتظامات سب ہی کمیشن مافیہ کے زیر سایہ چل رہا ھے۔
اوپننگ اور کلوزنگ کی رنگین تقریبات کے نام پر کروڑوں ہڑپ، ساؤنڈ سسٹم سے لے کر سٹیج تک سب کچھ کاغذوں میں سونے کا بنا دیا جاتا ہے۔ جیسے کھیلوں کی ترقی صرف ناچ گانوں اور لائٹ شو سے ممکن ہوتی ھے۔
رنگ و روغن، اسکور بورڈ، سامان کی خریداری—ہر جگہ لاکھوں کو کروڑوں میں تبدیل کرنے کا فن فنکاروں کی طرح برسوں میں نکھرتا گیا۔ اور آج صورتحال یہ ہے کہ سندھ اولمپک ایسوسی ایشن ہو، وزارت کھیل ہو یا اعلیٰ حکومتی شخصیات—سب لطف لے رہے ہیں، سب کھیلون کی اس خاص "ترقی" سے مطمئن ہیں۔ میں تو حیران ہوں کہ جس منسٹر سپورٹس کے آنے سے مین سب سے زیادہ خوش تھا وہ سب سے زیادہ نکما نکلا۔۔۔ خدا بخش مہر بھی روایتیسیاست دان ثابت ھوا جو کمیشن مافیہ اور کھیلوں کی ترقی کے دشمن مافیہ کے ھاتھوں میں کھیل رہا ھے۔ اس معملے کی شفاف تحقییقات ھونی بہت ٖضروری ھین اور ملوث افراد کو کیفر کردار تک پہنچا کر کھیلوں سے وابستہ محنتی اور فکر مند لوگوں کو شمل کرنا ھو گا۔
کھلاڑی ھمیشہ کھیل میں مرکزی کردار ادا کرتے ھین جبکہ محنتی کوچز کے بغیر کوئی بھی نظام کامیاب نہیں ھو سکتا۔ ایک جامع سسٹم جو بینالقوامی معیار سے مظابقت رکھتا ھو تمام ماہرین کی مدد سے ترتیب دینے اور عملی جامہ پہنانے میں میں اس بجٹ کا آدھا حصہ بھی سرف کیا جائے تو سندھہ کے کھیل بلندی کو چھو سکتے ھیں لیکن منسٹر صاھب یہ بھی آپ ہی سے ایک بار پھر امید بندھائی جا سکتی ھے کیونکہ آپ ہی یہ کر سکتے ھو۔
حیرت ہے کہ ملک کے چند سچے ٹیلنٹ جیسے ارشد ندیم، نوح بٹ، معید بلوچ—یہ سب نظام کا نہیں، اپنی ذاتی محنت، جنون، اور کچھ عظیم کوچز جیسے فیاض بخاری، دستگیر بٹ اور روما الطاف کی لگن کا نتیجہ ہیں۔ اور ان ہی کھلاڑیوں کے نام پر پھر بجٹ بنتا ہے۔ ان ہی کی کامیابیوں پر تصویریں بنتی ہیں۔ ان ہی کی جیت پر انعامات بانٹ کر بڑے کارنامے کا دعویٰ کیا جاتا ہے۔ لیکن جب نظام بنانے، پالیسی بنانے، یا نئے ٹیلنٹ کو سامنے لانے کی بات آئے تو یہی فیڈریشنز، یہی حکومتی ادارے اور یہی اولمپک ایسوسی ایشنز گونگی، بہری اور اندھی ہو جاتی ہیں۔ صوبے اور محکمے—سب اپنی اپنی بندر بانٹ میں مصروف نیشنل گیمز کی تیاری کے نام پر صوبوں نے الگ سے کروڑوں بانٹے۔ ڈیپارٹمنٹس نے الگ سے بجٹ پاس کیے۔ ایونٹ بار بار ملتوی ہوا اور ہر التوا بجٹ میں اضافہ لاتا گیا۔ صرف اندازہ نہیں—ریکارڈ کہتے ہیں کہ مجموعی طور پر اربوں روپے اس ایونٹ کے نام پر مختص ہوئے۔ لیکن سوال پھر وہی…

کس کوچ کو عالمی معیار کی تربیت ملی؟
.جو بھی ہے—ذاتی محنت کا نتیجہ ہے، نظام کا نہیں۔ کراچی نیشنل گیمز — ایک المیہ، کھیلوں کا تماشا۔ اگر کسی کو پاکستان کے کھیلوں کی تباہی کی وجہ سمجھنی ہو تو کراچی میں ہونے والے یہ گیمز اس کی بہترین مثال ہیں۔ یہ ایک ایسا ایونٹ ہے جو اصل کھیلوں کی ترقی کے بجائے صرف شو شا، فوٹو سیشنز، اور بجٹ کے بہاؤ کا کھیل بن کر رہ گیا ہے۔ دنیا میں کہیں دکھاوے کے کھیل نہیں کھیلے جاتے۔ ترقی انفراسٹرکچر، کوچنگ سسٹمز، فیڈریشنل گورننس اور گراس روٹ پروگرامز سے ہوتی ہے۔ لیکن پاکستان میں کھیلوں سے کھیلنے کا رواج برسوں سے جاری ہے۔
آخر میں بس یہی کہنا کافی ہے: سندھ میں نیشنل گیمز کا انعقاد کھیل نہیں، کھیلوں پر ایک طنز ہے۔ ایک المیہ جسے کھیلوں کی تاریخ میں لکھا جائے گا—کیونکہ یہاں کھیل نہیں کھیلے گئے، صرف کھیلوں کا مذاق اڑایا گیا۔ جبکہ یہ کھیل بندر بانٹ اور تفریح کو سوا کچھ نہیں۔

National Games 2025 — A Spectacle of 870 Million Rupees: More Commission, Less Sports

After eighteen long years of silence, the 35th National Games finally returned to Karachi — but what a return! Shockingly, a staggering 870 million rupees are being spent on these games, while the participation of approximately 11,000 athletes has been used to justify a per-athlete expense of 850,000 rupees. But the biggest question remains: Where are these 11,000 athletes? And even more importantly, has this massive budget improved the standard of sports? Have athletes been provided with any world-class facilities? Or is this yet another event designed purely to drain funds, exactly as it was eighteen years ago?
870 Million Rupees — But Where Are the Games?
Neither Karachi nor any other city in Sindh has seen the development of international-standard sports infrastructure in recent years. No fields upgraded, no coaches trained, no elite athlete development programs, no long-term policies — nothing that could produce athletes like Arshad Nadeem, Hussain Shah, or Jahangir Khan. Athletes still cry for basic tartan tracks and rely on donations or personal sources to participate internationally. Municipal sports complexes and stadiums like People’s Stadium remain abandoned ruins, while mafias dominate every level of sports administration.
The Commission Mafia — A New Game Inside the Games
There was a time when National Games were organized with a budget of around 80 million rupees. But “development” has taken such a magical turn that the same event now costs 870 million. The commission mafia, once operating with 50-50 or 25-75 splits, has now turned the sports budget into a permanent cash cow. Shoes worth 2,000 rupees become 8,000, and tracksuits costing 3,000 are billed at 15,000 — in such huge quantities that even domestic servants of officials could roam around in them. Officials’ suits look as if they were purchased from bridal boutiques. Vehicles were rented for “Olympic officials” as if IOC delegates were arriving. Whether it is medals, trophies, or accommodation, everything lies under the shadow of corruption.
Opening and closing ceremonies alone swallow millions. From sound systems to stage setups, everything is turned into gold — at least on paper. As if sports development comes through music, dance, and light shows.
When Infrastructure Ends, Drama Begins
Paint jobs, scoreboards, equipment purchases — every item is inflated from thousands to lakhs, and from lakhs to crores. Today, the Sindh Olympic Association, the Sports Ministry, and government elites all seem satisfied with this “successful corruption.” I am shocked because the Sports Minister, whom I once welcomed with high expectations, has proven to be the most ineffective. Khuda Bux Mahar has turned out to be just another traditional politician controlled by the commission mafia. This entire matter demands a transparent and strict investigation, and every involved person must be held accountable.
Athletes and Coaches Build Sports — Not Corrupt Systems
Athletes are always the central force of sports, and no system can succeed without hard-working coaches. If even half of this massive budget were used to create an internationally aligned system with the help of experts, Sindh’s sports could rise to new heights. Despite everything, hope can still be placed on the minister — because reforms can only begin from the top.
Real Champions Grow Despite the System, Not Because of It
Shockingly, athletes like Arshad Nadeem, Nooh Dastgir Butt, and Moeed Baloch achieved excellence not because of the sports system, but despite it — powered only by their personal struggle, passion, and by remarkable coaches like Fayyaz Bukhari, Dastgir Butt, and Roma Altaf. Yet, it is the same athletes whose names are used to justify budgets, for photos, for press releases, and for political fame.
But when it comes to building systems, drafting policies, or identifying new talent — federations, government bodies, and Olympic associations suddenly turn blind, deaf, and silent. Provinces and departments executed their own budget games. Each postponement of the event increased the financial burden. Altogether, billions were allocated in the name of these games.
And still, the real questions remain:
Where is a single world-class venue?
Did any department athlete break a world record — or even a national record?
How many athletes were produced through the system?
Which coach received world-class training?
Whatever exists today is personal effort, not institutional achievement.
Karachi National Games — A Tragedy, A Mockery of Sports
If anyone wants to understand why sports continue to collapse in Pakistan, these Karachi National Games are the perfect example. This was not a sports event — it was a circus. A flashy show of lights, photo sessions, and unstoppable budget flows.
Around the world, sports progress through infrastructure, coaching systems, governance, and grassroots programs. But in Pakistan, we have been playing games with sports for decades.
Conclusion
The National Games in Sindh were not a celebration of sports — they were an insult to it. A tragedy that history will record not as a sporting milestone, but as an example of how sports were ridiculed, misused, and turned into an avenue of financial entertainment.
